* Evan - junior at NIU, will be a firefighter with a poly sci degree, co-captain of college lacrosse team.

Comments:

I had my Bat Mitzah in the year 2000.
I did the "Avon Breast Cancer Walk" a few days before I was 6o years old.
And I have been traveling around the States on a Motorcycle. I sit behind my Husband on the cycle. No, I don't drive my own and I can't ride my Husband's (it is to big for me to straddle). If we had more room in the garage, I would purchase a "Spyder" (trike).
I have been Married for 53 years to my best friend...even though he graduated from Evanston High School.
I will always be thankful to Elaine Hirsch Cornbleet for fixing me up on a blind date with Fred.

Do you have a favorite school story or a funny memory?

The 4 years were a bit tough for me since I was never aware that I had "ADD" and dyslexia. (My sensitive (?) husband used to say that I had my own disease, which he named "ditzetsia" - being ditzy.)
I was lucky to have so many special and good friends.
When I looked around at the football field after graduation and saw my classmates, some from elementary school, I really felt bad that so many of these friends will be going into so many directions and I will never see some of them again.
This is the reason I love these Reunions because we get together and talk and no one cares if you're successful, just that you're at the reunion.
Hope to see all of you at the next reunion.
And my "funny story".....I had my Prom photo taken after I had been swimming in gym class, no hair drying...just a drippy ponytail!
And standing outside in the center of the school wearing a towel around my head and one around my body during a "Fire Drill". I would need many more towels now!

What would your 1964 self have to say to your present day self?

That I made a lot of good choices thru the years and I know I have learned from my mistakes. "Shelly you did Fine"!

What is on your bucket list?

Traveling more.
Enjoying retirement.
Keeping healthy and strong
Seeing my Grandkids grow up and becoming successful adults.
Remembering more things to put on this list.

What is your special motto?

"Eat it today...wear it tomorrow!"

When I moved back to the Chicago area, our family joined a synagogue in Long Grove on I was surprised to see Steve there.  He introduced me to his wife and it was so nice to see him. I felt so bad that he got sick and I know he had a tough time but I thought I would get to see him again.  I want to send love to his family because he was just a good guy!  He is missed by many.

I am really feeling so sad for Bob's family.  Bob always made me smile and he was a good friend to me.  He was happy when I called him and asked if he would help me out with our class reunion.  I was so thrilled that he came aboard.  I know he enjoyed all the activities and being with everyone.  I was really surprised when I met his wife Rita.  Rita and I were friends our Junior year.
My husband's company moved us out of town for many years and I lost track of a lot of high school friends.  I am so happy Bob had a good life and so sad that his life was shortened by illness.  I will miss his smile but I won't forget it.
This has really been a tough year and I can't wait 'til it's over.

I am so sorry for Rita's passing.  We were good friends in choir since we were Altos.  I keep hoping that Rita would have attended a reunion.  So much time has pass by and I am out of town.  I miss you girl and I hope you're in a good place.

I didn't know Stewart and I want to cry when I hear about how he was treated by his teachers and classmates.
I had a problem in school and it wasn't diagnosed till I was an adult. I Have ADD and I am also Dyslexic.  My Grandson is a Mensa, but he is high functioning Asbergers (a form of autism).  If only there was a way we could all get teachers that would understand our problems and treat us with compassion.  And of course put an end to the teasing.  Our world would be a happier place.

Happy Birthday to a classmate that hasn't gained any weight since she graduated. I wish I had your genes!
