Wow, I have a lump in my throat. Not because Al and I have been close in these last number of years, but all throughout our time at Cleveland & Oakview.... we were best of friends. Then, to a lesser degree in high school. Baseball, basketball, any sport, we always had fun. Many, many days were spent riding our bikes and hanging out at or near Oakton Park… He lived maybe two blocks from there. As Steve said, you wonder how some of those really close relationships tend to fall by the wayside later in your life. He was definitely one of those people early in grade school and junior high who meant so much... Really great memories that are also now bittersweet…

Why didn’t I put this together before… Sitting at a table, waiting for my grandson to show up, whose birthday is today… 14 years old. He is bright, smiley, kind, and humble. What’s amazing, is that that sounds like you as well. I hope that your day is incredibly special, and that you are surrounded by loved ones! Love you, man!
